Jill Biden is publishing a ‘deeply personal’ memoir
It’s Jill Biden’s turn to tell her story. The former second lady announced Tuesday that she will be publishing a memoir, “Where the Light Enters,” about how she and former vice president Joe Biden “built and rebuilt” their family.
“Life has held many surprises, and I hope what I’ve learned along the way will resonate with readers,” Biden told People magazine. The book, added Biden, would recount her personal journey as a mother, wife and working woman.
In 2017, the Bidens announced that they had signed with the powerhouse Creative Artists Agency to “amplify” their agenda after leaving Washington. Later that same year, the former veep released a memoir, “Promise Me, Dad,” about the death of his older son, Beau, during his final years in the White House.
For her “deeply personal” book, Jill Biden, an educator for more than three decades, will offer a “vulnerable look” at her 40-year marriage to a career politician while juggling her own academic goals and family life. The Bidens met when Jill was still in college and married in 1977 after several proposals from Joe. The young senator had lost his first wife and daughter to a car accident that his sons Beau and Hunter survived. In 1981, the Bidens welcomed daughter Ashley.
“She gave me back my life,” wrote Biden of his wife in his book “Promises to Keep: On Life and Politics.” “She made me start to think my family might be whole again.”
